Our Congressmen are patting themselves on the back because they managed to pass a budget without closing down the government. Never-the-less, for the past five years, those in charge of our national check book have been busy spending nearly a $-Trillion more than revenue received, and yet they claim this "new" budget will reduce this deficit spending by $23 billion next year, and nearly $83-billion over the coming decade.
The National Debt now stands at $17.2 trillion and is increasing by $2.65 billion each day; hence, the annual interest on this debt will exceed the so-called $23-billion savings these Legislators are so proud of. Simple grade school math reveals to us this budget is far short of solving this nation's fiscal problems.
Recently, Congress has suffered some criticism with respect to modification plans for the nation's educational system which is known as "Common Core." Clearly, our government cannot handle its own affairs, it would, therefore, appear ludicrous to think they could provide intelligent direction to our educational system.
