A Nation of Whiners
The
US Border Patrol reports that in February 66,000 persons crossing our border
illegally were apprehended - 36,000, of which are parents and children and
there are thousands more lining up in caravans coming from as far as El
Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.
America One News (OAN) claims the cost of these illegals has reached
more that $60-billion just for 2019.
Somehow, I
had expected public outrage by the fact that caravans in foreign nations,
numbered in the thousands, have organized with the intent to inflict themselves
upon our sovereign nation with the expectation they have a "right" to be
here. This, of course, is an insult to
the integrity and the rights of all those persons who have sought citizenship
in accordance to the legal method.
Moreover, Mexico, our neighbor, is allowing passage through their
country and even providing some transportation.
President
Donald Trump is threatening to shut down the Mexican Border, but there are
complaints that this nation will run out of avocados in ninety days - really? Has this nation deteriorated to the point we
can no longer support ourselves and need help from Mexico and South America?
According
to the web site "census.gov," in 2018
the US suffered a trade deficit of $81,817.4 billion with Mexico. Additionally, "we" as a nation provided more
than $100-Million in economic and security assistance to Mexico in 2017. Apparently, being a good neighbor is not
something that Mexico is considering.
The
President is also threatening to cut hundreds of millions in foreign aid to El
Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras which has also resulted in angry complaints
that these funds are intended to improve the lives of those persons living
there; but obviously, if those people are lining up in caravans to come here,
our efforts with foreign aid have failed miserably.
Have we
become a nation of whiners and complainers to the point that we refuse to
accept any solution to an obvious problem? - Or is it a case that if President Trump
proposes a solution, the Democrats immediately whine and complain providing
excuses for doing nothing?
